宿泊先ホテルの周りを散策するとき、ネットの口コミやガイドブックも役に立ちますが、その土地をよく知る地元の人に聞くのもおすすめです。
ホテルのフロントデスクのスタッフは地元の方なので、彼らにおすすめスポットを聞いてみるといいです。
レストラン、カフェ、アトラクションなど、地元ならではの場所を紹介してくれるかもしれません。
私がスペインに旅行したとき、フロントデスクの年配のスタッフに、
Do you have a favorite restaurant around here where you often dine?
「あなたがよく行くお気に入りのレストランはこの辺りにありますか？」
と、聞きました。
「ホテルが紹介とか宣伝」しているものではなく、span class="markerg">そのスタッフさん自身の好みを聞いたのです。
そのスタッフさんは歩いて10分ぐらい所にあったパスタのレストランを嬉しそうに教えてくださいました。
その晩、私と主人は海の近くのレストランでイカ墨のパスタとハウスワインを楽しみました。
翌日、「美味しかったです。ありがとうございました！」とお礼を言ったら、「でしょ？」と言いたげに嬉しそうに笑顔を見せてくれました。

とったことも気軽に聞いてみたら良いと思います。
どんな隠れた名店を発見できるかわかりませんよ。
ただし、フロントデスクは旅行代理店やツアーガイドではないので、何でも頼らないようにご注意くださいね。
